Diesel spill after collision
On Nov 7, 2013, the "Risico" was in collision with a dredge on the ring canal at Buitenkaag. The hull was breached, and the vessel leaked around 1000 liters of diesel into the water. The 30-cm-leak was just above the water line. The canal was closed for shipping and oil barriers laid out. The oil sheen on the canal at Buitenkaag had a length of about 900 meters. The fire rescue attended with a fire boat. The province, police and environmental services were summoned. The leak was patched with old rags and used garments. Cleaning work was expected to take until Nov 8.
