Body of missing crew member recovered from river bottom
The body of a 41-year-old Polish crew member who fell over board the "Johannes Sr" on Dec 21, 2014, on the Lek at Schoonhoven was recovered from the bottom in the evening of Dec 22. A specialized team of the police managed to locate the victim using sonar. Firefighters, the KNRM and police had searched for the man with divers, boats and a police helicopter between Groot-Ammers and Schoonhoven. The shipping was shut down until the nightfall.
