Security fee against chief engineer due to lack of SECA description
During a port state contol in the morning of July 24, 2017, aboard the "Regius" in Brake, officers of the wate police remarked that there was no rule-compliant procedure for the conversion of high-sulfur fuel to low-sulfur marine fuel on board. This procedure description indicates to the ship's crew how and when the changeover process must be carried out so that the vessel in the so-called Sulfur Emission Control Areas (SCA), such as the North Sea, respects the applicable sulfur limits in the ship's exhaust emissions. An administrative offense was launched against the responsible 62-year-old chief engineer. A security fee of 500, - Euro was fixed.
