Thieves tried to loot moored vessel

Thieves were remarked aboard the 'Ever Judger' at Balikpapan and were arrested by a joint officer from Balikpapan. A number of evidence was secured by the officers. The intruder had hidden after looting items such as gas cylinders, a number of communication devices and the ship's compass. The perpetrators were taken to Semayang Port, to undergo an examination.

Captain sentenced to ten years in prison for pipeline accident

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia has sentenced the captain of the 'Ever Judger' to ten years in prison. On March 31, 2018, the vessel had damaged a pipeline which caused an oil spill and fire that claimed five lives, and also damaged the marine life. The authorities found the Captain guilty for violating Law No. 32/2009 on Environmental Protection and Management. the captain was also fined with approximately 949,246 US Dollar.
