German yacht sank after collision with ferry
The 'Protoporos XIII' during its Oropos-Eretria service was in collision with the German yacht 'Skea' off the coast of Oropos in the south Euboean Gulf in the morning of June 24, 2022. The 67 year old single hand sailor aboard the sailboat was thrown into the sea. The ferry crew picked up the man, who was visibly shaken, but not injured. He was transferred to the hospital at Halkida as a precaution. The yacht sank, the ferry suffered no damage. After the class inspection, the vessel resumed its schedule on June 24.
