Historic ferry ended its career
EOn April 15, 2025, the 'Prevelis' has been transferred to the dock next to the 'Kriti I' in Elefsina, definitively closing its life cycle in Greek coastal shipping. Officially, the ferry will now have only one and final trip to the Aliiaga scrapyard.
Ferry suffered ramp damage
On the evening of Nov 14, the Port Authority of Myrina was informed that the 'Prevelis', which had set sail with 55 passengers on board en route to the port of Lavrio, suffered a breakdown of the vehicle ramp. The ship returned to the port of Myrina, where it was inspected by the Local Ship Inspection Unit (TKEP). The Myrina Port Authority initially prohibited the sailing of ferry PREVELIS until the damage was repaired. Upon presentation of the relevant certificate, the ship sailed for the port of Lavrio
Medevac in Heraklion
On the evening of June 2, 2024, the Central Port Authority of Heraklion was informed by the Master of the 'Prevelis' that a 61-year-old passenger felt unwell and after being examined by a doctor on board it was decided that she needed hospital care for preventive reasons. The ship was on a schgeduled route from Rhodes to Piraeus with the intermediate ports of Chalki - Diafani - Pigadion - Kasos - Sitia - Heraklion - Anafi - Thira. In the port of Heraklion, the woman was picked up by an ambulance and transferred to the Regional University General Hospital of Heraklion. The ship then departed to carry out its scheduled itinerary.
