Dredger evacuated after deflagration
In the evening of Feb 17, 2012, the "Pirat X" suffered an engine room deflagration off the Jade-Weser-Port construction site. The crew flooded the engine room with CO2 and left the ship onboard a pontoon boat. The lifeboat "Hannes Glogner“ of the DGzRS-Station Hooksiel secured the accident site until units of the fire rescue boarded the dredger and made sure that the danger was over.
