Leaking Comoros-flagged cargo ship pulled to Eregli

Sun Feb 12 09:55:38 CET 2012 arnekiel

The Comoros-flagged cargo ship St. Filip, which had asked for help after it started to leak water early on Sunday, was pulled to the Black Sea port of Eregli. Eregli Subgovernor Ibrahim Cay said the ship started to leak water from its engine room after it unloaded scrap metal to Erdemir Iron and Steel Enterprises and set sail again. "We sent two ships to the area after the captain called for help, and the cargo ship was pulled to Eregli port by a tug-boat," Cay told AA correspondent. Cay said the crew members were in stable condition, adding that the cargo ship would head for Bulgaria after it was repaired. The cargo ship was en route to Bulgaria when it leaked water six miles off Eregli town. http://www.worldbulletin.net/?aType=haber&ArticleID=85676
