Grounding on Volga-Caspian Sea Channel
The ''Parmis' ran aground on the Volga-Caspian Sea Channel at km mark 50 in position 46° 13' 51.708" N, 47° 54' 57.6" E on Nov 7, 2020, at 2.30 p.m. The ship had been proceeding downstream, being loaded with 3140 tonnes of grain, enroute from Astrakhan to Amirabad. The 'Parmis' had sailed at 2.45 a.m. with an ETA at Amirabad as of Dec 11. The Russian tug 'Georgiy Sedov' was mobilized to the scene.
