16 stowaway rescued from container after 10 days
16 African stowaways were found inside a container aboard the "Panther" during unloading works by port workers at the APM Terminals in Algeciras on Oct 16, 2017. They probably saved the lives of the men from Ghana who had hidden inside the container for 10 days. The port workers heard voices from a Maersk container and alerted the ship's crew. The container was lifted free and the dehydrated men were found. The ship had sailed from Ghana on Oct 6. The police was called, but as the 16 men did not leave the ship, they were detained on board.
