Container ship sank fishing vessel

On Sep 11, 2024,, at 8:00 a.m. the fishing vessel 'QNa-95221 TS' was hit by the 'Pacific Grace', in 16.13 N 108.29 E, about 10.25 nautical miles east-northeast of Cape Son Tra. There were 8 fishermen on board the boat, who were rescued by the 'Pacific Grace' and two fishing boats from the Binh Minh commune (Thang Binh district) at 10:30 a.m. Their ship suffered significant damage and sank. The 'Pacific Grace' was en route to Hai Phong, where it arrived on Sep 12 at 7:30 a.m. The Quang Nam Provincial Border Guard Command directed the Cua Dai Border Guard Station (Hoi An), Binh Minh Border Guard Station (Thang Binh District) to coordinate the response.
