Engine failure off Kandilli
On Feb 27, 2025, at around 2 a.m. UTC, the 'Oyster' suffered an engine failure during the transit of the Bosphorus off Kandilli, en route from Ambarlı to Novorossiysk with an ETA as of Feb 28. The ship was taken in tow by the tugs 'Kurtarma 7' (IMO: 9598608) and 'Kurtarma 12' (IMO: 9854404). It was safely moored at Büyükdere Anchorage in pos. 41° 09' N 029° 03' E at 5.30 a.m. UTC under the coordination of the IGTH Center, accompanied by a pilot. Ship fined for violating rules
The 'Oyster' was fined on March 17, 2022, for violating the Georgian rules of navigation at the port of Poti. This was reported by the Border police of the Georgian Interior Ministry. The vessel was detained for violating the rules of navigation in the territorial waters of Georgia. The Border force Main Operations and Investigation Department started proceedings against the vessel under the article of the Administrative Code "Violation of the legislation on the continental shelf, territorial waters or special economic zone of Georgia", which implies a fine of 20,000 Georgian Lari. After paying the fine, on March 21, the vessel was permitted to sail from Poti to its next destination Novorossyisk, where it arrived on March 24.
