Collision off Kamchatka

Fri Jan 03 22:36:23 CET 2020 Timsen

The 'Shantar' was in collision with the cargo m/v 'Tanir' (IMO: 8711318) at the anchorage in the Avacha Bay, Petropavlovsk, off the Kamchatka peninsula on Jan 2, 2020. The bow of the 'Shantar' struck the 'Tanir' at port side and caused a hull breach below the waterline. The leakage was sealed with a hard patch by divers. On Jan 3 at 8 a.m. both ships were berthed in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatkiy. Report with photo: https://www.maritimefirstnewspaper.com/2020/01/04/cargo-ships-collided-in-avacha-bay-kamchatka/
