Medevac off Algeciras

On Oct 10, 2023, the 'OWL 6', en route from Pascagoula to Algeciras, requeste the medical evacuation for a crew member with an eye injury off Algeciras. The CCS Algeciras of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR vessel 'Salvamar Denébola', which took the victim off and transferred him to Saladillo, where an ambulance was waiting for the transport to a hospital for further medical care.

Tanker grounded near Boma

On July 31, 2020, the 'Venlo' ran aground while approaching the Kuntuala Terminal near Boma in Congo. The ship was being directed 200 meters to the wrong side of a navigation buoy. It was the second oil tanker to be grounded in the area in the past two months due to river pilots ignoring marker buoys. On Aug 8, the shi dropped anchor off Lome. In June, the 'Sea Force' had to be refloated from a sandbank by a tug brought from Pointe Noire to Boma.
