Broken down windfarm vessel towed to port

Tue Nov 22 12:24:18 CET 2016 Timsen

The Hoylake Lifeboat volunteers assisted the the "Dalby Humber” after it broke down in the night of Nov 21, 2016, having developed engine problems near the Mersey Bar. The catamaran had six people on board, who were working on the Burbo windfarm extension. The lifeboat “Edmund Hawthorn Micklewood” reached the casualty, near the entrance to the buoyed channel of the River Mersey, in less than half an hour. It was then taken under tow to Langton Lock where it entered the dock system for repairs. The lifeboat was secured alongside the windfarm vessel and was able to manoeuvre the much larger craft on to a berth in the dock. Members of the coastguard rescue team helped on the dockside. The "Dalby Humber" left Liverpool again on Nov 22 at noon, bound to Holyhead. Report with photos: http://www.wirralglobe.co.uk/news/14917523.Stranded_catamaran_crew_rescued_by_Hoylake_Lifeboat/
