Collision off Ålesund

On Feb 12, 2025, the fishing vessel ' Bjørn Martin' (MMSI: 257038310) was in collision with the fpurse seiner 'Nordsö' (IMO: 9841550), while fishing about 22 nautical miles northwest of Ålesund, while fishing northwest of Ålesund, and suffered damage to the wheelhouse and mast at port side. The 'Nordsö' suffered scratches at the bow. The Norwegian Central Rescue Service (HRS) received a distress call shortly after 10 a.m. and sent a rescue helicopter and a lifeboat to the vessels, but both did not need assistance, so the rescue forces were stood down. There were a total of eight people on board the two vessels, none of whom was injured.
