Three people died from suffocation

Mon Oct 02 11:33:47 CEST 2017 Timsen

Three Indians aboard the "Nord Bering" died from suffocation on Sep 30, 2017, at 9.30 p.m. They got trapped after they fell inside a cargo hold in Sohar. The accident resulted in the death of three Asian nationals due to inhalation of the chemicals used to preserve wood inside the ship. There was no further safety or environmental impact or on other people onboard the ship, in the port or in the surrounding communities. The Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC) was working closely with the concerned authorities to investigate the precise cause of the accident.
