Thief stole some thousand Euros

On the morning of Sep 19, officers of the Port Authority of Chios arrested a 21-year-old Albanian citizen for violating article 372 of the Criminal Code. Following an investigation by the officers of the Port Authority, theman was found to be in possession of €3,600 as the product of a theft, which took place on the 'Nissos Samos'. The Central Port Authority of Chios, which conducted the preliminary investigation, confiscated the amount of money.

Engine failure off Kavala

On the evening of April 20, 2024, the Port Authority of Kavala was informed by the Master of the 'Nissos Samos', that shortly before berthing in port, a failure was detected in the port side main engine. The ship sailed under its own power to the port of Kavala and safely disembarking the 21 passengers. Man fell into the sea on Christmas Eve

The Port Authority of Chios was informed, in the early hours of Dec 24, 2022, that a 44-year-old man fell into the sea from the 'Nissos Samos' 29 nautical miles west of Chios while the ship was running a scheduled route from the port of Piraeus to the ports of Psara, Oinousso,, Chios and Mytilini.Investigations were immediately started by two patrol boats, ships in the area, shore patrols, an aircraft and a helicopter with negative results so far.
