Barge train grounded on Ohio River
The "Amber Brittany" got stuck on the Ohio River just off of Evansville's riverfront on Jan 29, 2014. The tug was pushing a 15-barge tow with corn to Cairo, Illinois, when the accident happened in front of the Four Freedoms monument on the left descending bank of the Ohio. The Coast Guard sent an investigation vehicle. The tug owners were likely to send an assist boat to lighten the cargo so the "Amber Brittany" could lift and move again.
