Allision in Brunsbüttel

Tue Nov 27 12:02:38 CET 2012 Timsen

The "Navi Baltic" while enroute Hamburg-St. Petersburg allided with a shelter of the middle gate of the large Northern Lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel on Nov 25, 2012, at 6 p.m. The cover of the shelter was shifted a bit, the ship suffered scratches. It continued its voyage after the investigations of the police Brunsbüttel were finished at 7 p.m. and passed the locks in Kiel on Nov 26 around 4 a.m. The accident was caused by strong wind gusts which pushed the ship off it's course. The "Navi Baltic" is expected in St. Petersburg on Nov 28.
