Tue Sep 06 10:01:08 CEST 2016 Timsen

On Sep 1, 2016, at 8.21 a.m. the "Datteln" was tasked to support the NGO-ship "Phoenix" 90 kilometers NW of Tripoli saving migrants aboard a sinking rubber boat. At 9.50 a.m. two boats, the second being a wooden boat, were sighted. The "Datteln" took on board 17 persons, 15 men and two women. At noon another distressed boat was reported five kilometers northward. From this rubber boat 139 persons were rescued, 100 men, 15 women and 24 children. All migrants were transferred aboard the "Vos Chablis" for the further transport to Italy. The "Datteln" then resumed its patrols.
