The vessel refloated with the rising tide later on Dec 4.
MVNAZISH 8100131
On its way from Kolkata to Port Blair the "Nazish" on Dec 4, 2010, ran aground on a sandbar of the Hooghly river at Noorpur. The ship was carrying logs from Malaysia and got grounded close to the spot where the "Tiger Sprang" sank after collision with the "Green Valley" on Nov 22 and is still there. The "Nazish", which was being guided by a KoPT pilot, strayed from the navigational channel and got grounded in the South 24-Parganas district. The ship was waiting for the next tide in the hope to be moving again. KoPT blamed the pilot's negligence for the incident.
