Technical trouble in English Channel

On June 30, 2018, at 9.30 p.m. the 'Celebration' with a crew of 15 on board suffered problems with some cylinder heads overheating in position 050 02.317 N, long 003 26.483 W 22 miles south of Brixham on June 30, 2018, at 9.25 p.m. The vessel had 9.122 tonnes of sugar, 148.8 metric tonnes of fuel oil, 40 metric tonnes of diesel oil and four metric tonnes of lube oil on board. The defect was resolved and the tests were completed at 11 p.m. The ship was enroute from Rouen to Khoms. After tests the 'Celebration' resumed the voyage to Libya, ETA July 8, 6 p.m.

Thorco merges with Clipper and forms world’s second largest multipurpose/projects owner

Clipper Group and Thorco Shipping are pleased to announce the creation of the world’s second largest multipurpose/projects owner and operator: Effective July 1st, 2013, Clipper Projects and Thorco Shipping will merge, continuing under the Thorco name and with headquarters in Copenhagen. After the merger, Thorco will operate a fleet of about 90 modern multipurpose vessels with a lifting capacity up to 400t. The vessels range from 5,000 dwt to 20,000 dwt.
