No confirmation about alleged attacks on three vessels

Sat May 11 11:40:30 CEST 2024 Timsen

On May 9, 2024, Houthi militants continued targeting the MSC Mediterranean Shipping company vessels, asserting them as ‘Israeli Ships’. The militants claimed to have attacked the 'MSC Gina', 'MSC Diego' and the 'MSC Vittoria'. However, a statement of the Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree did not provide any details nor any of the international security agencies have confirmed the attack. The military tracking operations have also not identified any new attacks on vessels or received information from ships operating in that region. The last report provided by UKMTO about the explosion near a merchant vessel came on May 7, when missiles were launched from Yemen that might have targeted the 'MSC Gina', which had departed from Sri Lanka, amd the 'MSC Diego', which had sailed from Oman, in the Gulf of Oman. Currently both vessels were providing extra assistance in the region to Djibouti. The Houthis had also claimed to have fired twice on the 'MSC Vittoria' in the Indian Ocean and laer in the Arabian Sea. This attack was also not recognized by the military tracking operation nor any information was received from the vessel.

Houthis claimed attacks on three merchant ships

Mon Apr 08 11:10:16 CEST 2024 Timsen

The Houthis claimed over the weekend to have widened their area of operations, having targeted three merchant ships as well as US frigates, including one attack in the Indian Ocean. Security consultants however have not confirmed the attacks. and there is a history of the Houthis overstating the success of their naval attacks in the six months that they have been conducting strikes on merchant shipping in support of seeking a truce between Israel and Hamas. The Houthis claimed to have launched missiles against the 'Hope Island', the 'MSC Gina' and the 'MSC Grace F'. The ships were in three separate locations, the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, a significant ramp-up in terms of the geographic spread of attacks, if confirmed. Early indications suggested that none of these ships has been damaged.

MSC GINA 9202663

Sat Oct 09 22:25:52 CEST 2010 zaloasv

A 27-year-old man has been rescued after falling overboard from a container ship off the coast of Suffolk. Thames Coastguard were called at about 0615 BST to a report that the crewman had fallen from the ship MSC Gina. An RAF search and rescue helicopter from Wattisham Airfield, lifeboats and pilot boats from Harwich were called to the scene, 16 miles off Felixstowe. One of the pilot boats located the man and rescued him from the water. The casualty was then taken to Felixstowe dock where he was warmed up and treated by the dock paramedics for hypothermia before returning to the MSC Gina when it docked at the port at 0930 BST. Thames Coastguard said the crew member had not been wearing a lifejacket.
