Medevac off Brunswick

TheUS Coast Guard medevaced a 35 year-old-man from the 'Morning Capo', en route from Cirstobal to Philadelphia, on Feb 24, 2022, approximately 12 miles east of Brunswick, Georgia. Marine Safety Unit Savannah watchstanders relayed a message from the ship to Coast Guard Sector Charleston watchstanders at 2:27 a.m. via landline that a crew member aboard was experiencing severe abdominal pain.A Coast Guard Station Brunswick 45-foot Response Boat—Medium boat crew arrived on scene at 6:20 a.m. and transferred the man to awaiting EMS at Station Brunswick. EMS transported the man to Southeast Georgia Medical Center for further medical care.

Collision off Xiamen

In the evening of Nov 22, 2014, the "Stadt Rostock" while enroute from Xiamen to Shanghai was in collision with the car carrier "Morning Capo" which was underway from Gunsan to Singapore, in waters near Xiamen. The "East China Sea rescue 116" escorted the ship to Xiamen where she anchored. The container ship had suffered damage at the starboard side of the bow, while the car carrier suffered a hole in the bow.
