Ferry suffered hydraulic failure
The 'Møkstrafjord', serving on the route Hufthamar–Krokeide, suffered a problem with the hydraulic systemson June 30, 2025, at 12.40 p.m., and was unable to dock in Austevoll. because the bow port could not be opened. As a consequence, the ferry service had to be cancelled at 12.41 p.m. by the operator Fjord 1. Fjord1. At 5.40 p.m. the ship was operating normal again.
Ferry suffered thruster issue
The service of the 'Møkstrafjord' on the Lyse Fjord between Krokeide and Hufthammar had to be suspended on June 5, 2025, by the operator Fjord1 until further notice due to a problem with the thruster that was preventing the ferry from operating. A spare part has been ordered for a repairs of the damage.
Ferry saved castaways from the water
The two crew members of a 40-ft-boat that started burning in the Lysefjord, jumped into the sea and was rescued by the 'Møkstadfjord' on April 9, 2022, around 8 p.m. At the Krokeide ferry quay in Fana, several emergency services turned up to receive the castaways. After the HRS had received a message from the police at 8.11 p.m. it sent out an emergency message two minutes later, and the 'Møkstrafjord' responded together with the ambulance boat 'Austevolljenta' and the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
