Grounding on the Danube
On June 20, 2019, the "Misando", 1303 ts (EU-No.: 02320937), enroute from Ijmuiden to Krems with a cargo of 1.092 tonns steel, tore off a fairway buoy due to a navigational mistake. The crew dropped the stern anchor and steered the ship to the left river sore. The rudder and propellers of the ship were disabled. ran aground on the Danube at river km 2321 near Straubing in the Parkstetten municipality. The ship was pushed perpendicular to the fairway. The water police Deggendorf attended with the patrol boat "WSP 14", the river authority with the "Kinsach". The river was barred for shipping between the lock Straubing and the port Straubing Sand, river km 2322-2212. The ship was refloated at 6 p.m. by another vessel, the Dutch "Cuarto" (MMSI: 244150526) and moored at the shore in pos. 48° 53.93' N 012° 32.31' E which started towing the casualty to Regensburg on June 21. The barge "Enterprise" towed it to the ÖSWAG Yard in Linz for repairs where it arrived on June 27. It sailed again on July 26, headed to Deventer, ETA Aug 6.
