Allision in Amsterdam
On Dec 11, 2024, the self propelled barge 'Mediation' along with the pushed barge 'Mediation II' (MMSI: 244025989), en route from Ijmuiden with a cargo of coal, got out of control in the port of Amsterdam, while transiting the North Sea Canal, and allided with the 'Millora', which was moored at the pilings in the Afrika Port, at around 10.30 a.m. It scraped along with its port side at the port side of the tanker until it could be stopped. While both ships were damaged, there were no injuries or leakage of hazardous substances. The police and Rijkswaterstaat were on site to investigate the incident and provide support, and the patrol boat 'PA4 Athena' has also been deployed. The fire brigade was not called in, as the situation seemed to be well under control. At 4 p.m. UTC, the 'Millora' shifted to the nearby ADM-Port. On Dec 12 at 6.30 a.m. the 'Mediation' continued the voyage to Swinhaven.
