Three crew members with fever isolated

Thu Mar 05 19:24:43 CET 2020 Timsen

Authorities have suspended cargo operations and other activities on board the 'Serenitas N' at Mongla port after a medical team found three of its sailors had fever. The three Filipino sailors of the coal-laden ship have been kept in isolation following their medical tests. The ship has been kept anchored at the harbour. It had arrived at the port via Chattogram in the night of March 4, 2020, with 24,000 tonnes of coal. As per the rule, a medical team went aboard the ship the same night and conducted tests on the sailors. The three sailors have been advised to stay isolated in their own rooms in the ship, while all activities of the ship have been suspended for now. All other sailors were also advised to stay within the ship. The medical team observed the sailors again in the morning of March 5, and two of them were found with normal body temperature while the other still had some fever.
