The "Mega Jet" allided with the pier in Santa Maria port on Aug 25, 2019, at 11.45 p.m., upon the arrival from from São Miguel. The ferry suffered damage the port side stern fender. The ship was detained until a report was filed and operator Atlânticoline could take further action. Passengers bound to Faial have been informed, and those who were returning, were cared for by the Azorean operator.
