Transporter bridge on final voyage years after allision with former Evert Prahm

On April 10 the old Rendsburg transporter bridge, which was destroyed beyond repair by the 'Evert Prahm', now sailing as 'May B', and is being towed to the District Harbour, where it will be converted into a fish snack. The Rendsburg businessman Martin Sick plans to sell fish sandwiches and organize events aboard. On the afternoon of April 9, the wreck was loaded onto a trailer. The transporter bridge was loaded onto a pontoon by the transport company Ulferts and Wittrock,using a 250-ton crane, and transported by the tug 'Paulina' (MMSI: 211223550) from the Rendsburg Saatsee shipyard, its current location, to the District Harbour on the afternoon of April 10 with an ETA as of 4 p.m.. Transporter bridge to be transported from yard to communal harbour more than nine years after accident

The transporter bridge, which was hit by the 'Evert Prahm', now sailing as 'May B', on Jan 8, 2016, will be transported from the Saatsee shipyard across the Kiel Canal to its new destination in the communal port of Rendsburg on April 10, 2025,. The transporter bridge will be used as an open terrace and seating area for a fish snack bar at the Kiel Canal: The fundraising goal of the crowdfunding campaign by the Schleswig-Holstein municipal utility company (Stadtwerke SH) has been reached. According to the owner Martin Sick, the money will finance the transport of the transporter bridge across the Kiel Canal. The preparations for the transit are scheduled to begin early in the morning so that the pontoon can depart around 12:30 p.m., along with the transporter bridge to the site at Rendsburg's communal harbour. It will first be loaded onto a trailer by mobile cranes and then brought to the quay. From there, the ferry will then be loaded onto the pontoon for transport by a tug about two kilometers south down the canal. On the property by the canal, also owned by Martin Sick, the old landmark is to be renovated. The fish snack bar is scheduled to open by the Rendsburg Canal Cup, which takes place from Aug 8-10, at the latest. The unique vehicle celebrated its 100th birthday in 2013. Repairs of collison with transporter bridge completed

The "Evert Prahm" left the repair yard in Söby on Feb 10 short past midnight after the repairs of the collision damage with the transporter bridge in Rendsburg and headed for Rostock as first port of call, ETA Feb 10 at noon.
