Grounding near Ammoglossa

The Port Authority of Kavala was informed on Nov 26, 2020, at noon that the 'Mastronikos' ran aground on sandy shallows in the area of ​​Ammoglossa, Keramoti, Kavala. She hhad sailed from the port of Nea Karvali headed to Kalamaki, Corinth, loaded with 2,003 tonnes of fertilizer and had a crew of nine on board. A patrol boat and a tug were deployed to assist, and the ship could be pulled off and was escorted into the port of Keramoti. The Port Authority of Kavala banned the ship from sailing until the presentation of a class maintenance certificate by the attending classification society. No injuries nor pollution were reported.

Collision in Piraeus

The cargo m/v "La Joie" while leaving the port of Piraeus, was in collision with the inbound "Ahti R" in the afternoon of Jan 16, 2016, in stormy weather conditions. Both ships had a pilot on board. The ships were not headed on crossing routes, but probably the big swell caused problems with steering and thus clashed. Both vessels suffered damages, but there was no leak. The ships were detained for investigation and surveys.
