Detained tanker released
The "Masters Force II" has been released from the Tema Harbour after its owners paid part of debt owed to Ghanaian companies which worked on the tanker "Olivia", its sister ship. A Tema high Court had ordered the detention of the ship, following an application made by Electronic Marine Service, Marinemor Consult, Sahara Global Ghana Limited and ECI marine Ghana Limited. Owners of the ship owed the Ghanaian companies 344,528 dollars, out of which 222,000 dollars has been paid. In a consented judgement reached on Nov 7, 2014, it was agreed that the Ghanaian companies shall be paid the outstanding balance on or before Dec 16. The tanker had been arrested on the orders of the court on Jul 31.
