Collision off Tanah Merah

Mon Sep 01 13:32:07 CEST 2025 Timsen

The 'Marine Dynamo' was in collision with the Malta-registered bulk carrier 'Flag Gangos' (IMO: 9643908), en route from Yingkou to Hambantota, about eight kilometres south of Tanah Merah on Sep 1, 2025, at 9.25 a.m. Both vessels were stable, and all crew members were safe and accounted for. One crew member from the 'Marine Dynamo' had suffered minor bruises and sprains and was being treated onboard. Light oil sheens were sighted in the vicinity of the 'Marine Dynamo' after marine gas oil (MGO) from the service tank above the waterline had spilt. It was expected to evaporate and break down readily in the environment. Patrol craft and spill-response craft have been deployed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to investigate the matter and to assist in the situation, including dispersing the oil sheens. Drones have also been deployed to monitor the situation. Passing vessels have been alerted by navigational broadcast, while terhe waere is no impact to navigational safety. The MPA started investigating the collision. The 'Marine Dynamo' anchored in pos. 01° 11' N 103° 46' E, the 'Flag Gangos' in pos. 01° 17' N 104° 02' E.
