Steam pipe bust severely injured crew member
A steam pipe busted in the galley of the "Mercosul Manaus" during maintenance work carried out by one of the crew members in the night of Aug 1, 2017, while the vessel was waiting for the permittance to enter Saontos port. The 64-year old man was severely injured with up to 70% of his body burnt. He was transferred to hospital and taken to intensive care ward. The ship was inspected on Aug 2 after having berthed in port at 10.45 a.m.
