Longliner sank in Vigo
The "Lusitania Primero", based in the port in A Guarda, sank in the port of Vigo in the dock of O Berbé on March 2, 2018, after having apparently suffered a water ingress being moored alongside another longliner, the "Cuplé". The ship started foundering by the the stern after the rupture of a pipe, possibly after a bottom touch. The crew in vain tried to dewater the vessel. Two ships of Salvamento Maritimo and the fire brigade also could not avoid the sinking. Finally only the bow showed above the water. There was no fuel leak, the tasks were to be drained before refloating the wreck. A team of divers to check the diesel tanks.
