Lummie grounded leaking barge

On the Hollands Diep near Moerdijk a barge got into trouble after alliding with the pillar of a bridge on Feb 7, 2013, at 7.30 p.m. The tug "Lummie" had pushed the barge which was loaded with gravel. The barge suffered a leak and was grounded on the Zeehondplate at Strijensas. Emergency services which attended with the "RWS 71", the fireboat from Dordrecht and the KNRM-lifeboat "DRB 49" as well as the crew of two were able to pump out the water. They remained on board during the night hours. On Feb 8 an insurer and a salvor were expected on scene to investigate the damage. It was yet unclear whether the allision also has damaged the bridge.
