Ferry suffered bow visor issue
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered a technical issue affecting the bow visor on Feb 20 and was sidelined in Oban for troubleshooting. As a consequence, the ferry 'Isle of Arran' was inserted to operate a delayed 5.15 p.m. sailing departing Oban. An update was to be provided by the operator CalMac as soon as more information became available.
Ferry suffered issue with lift
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered an issue with the lift on board on Feb 10, 2024, which had to be taken out of service as a consequence. Engineers attended the vessel on Feb 11, and a temporary repair has been made. The lift was now in working order, however, until a full repair has been made during the vessels overhaul it remained liable to further issues and removal from service. The scheduled departures from Oban at 2:05 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. and from Craignure at 12:40 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. were liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice due to monitoring of the ongoing technical issue:.
Ferry suffered issue with exhaust
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the rouite Oban-Craignure, suffered a technical issue with the exhaust on the main engine on Nov 28, 2024. As a consequence,, the 06:00 a.m. departure from Oban and the 07:25 a.m. departure from Craignure were liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice. While thel issue was being monitored, the 06:00 service departed as planned, while the 07:25 a.m. crossing from Craignure departed late at 07:35 a,m.
