Ferry suffered technical issue
The 'Loch Alainn'. serving on the route Ardmhor-Eriskay, suffered a technical issue on the morning of Feb 6, 2025, which required further investigations and repairs. As a consequence, the scheduledd departures from Barra at 05:20 a.m., 07:15 a.m. and 09:15 a.m. and from Eriskay at 06:10 a.m.,, 08:10 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. had to be cancelled, while troubleshooting was underway. After the repairs have been completed successfully, the sailings from Barra at 09:15 a.m. and from Eriskay at 10:10 a.m. were reinstade.
Ferry suffered issue with fire pumps
The 'Loch Alainn', serving on the route Ardmhor-Eriskay, suffered a technical issue with the fire pumps on Dec 19, 2024. As a result, the scheduled departure from Barra at 5.20 p.mn. and from Eriskay at 6.15 p.m. were cancelled. On Dec 20, the 07:15 a.m. departure from Barra and the 08:10 a.m. departure from Eriskay were liable to disruption or cancellation. A further update was to be provided once known.
Ferry suffered propulsion trouble
The 'Loch Alainn', serving on the route Barra-Eriskay, picked up a suspected foreign object in its propulsion on Dec 11, 2024. As a consequence, the 04:45 a.m. sailing from Ardmhor hwas delayed. An update was to be provided once more information has become available.
