Engine trouble in Suez Canal

The 'Lorelei' suffered engine trouble on Aug 10, 2020, while transiting the Suez Canal with a northbound convoy. Subsequently, the vessel was taken in tow and carried out trials. After the completion of repair works, the vessel, which was enroute from Sikka to Gibraltar, continued the voyage towards the Mediterranean Sea.

Medevac off New Orleans

The US Coast Guard medevaced a Filipino crewmember from the "Lorelei" 23 miles south of Southwest Pass on Dec 21, 2014. Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call from the crew of the tanker reporting a crewmember was suffering from a reportedly broken left leg. A Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was directed to launch and arrived on scene to hoist the Filipino crewmember at 12:38 p.m. The aircrew flew the patient to the West Jefferson Medical Center and safely transferred him for further medical care.
