Leader towed to Weymouth

The RNLI-boat "Beth Sell" took the "Leader" in tow to Weymouth. Everyone on board was wearing foul weather gear and lifejackets and were able to go inside as the ship was towed back to Weymouth. They were taken home to Plymouth by minibus on Sep 6, while the operations manager and shipwright travel to Weymouth to assess the damage. 16 sailors rescued off Dorset coast

Sixteen sailors were rescued when their yacht lost its mast and sails in rough seas off the Dorset coast, BBC reports. The 30m (100ft) sail training vessel, Leader, experienced difficulties off Portland Bill at around 17:30 BST on Monday. The RNLI took more than four hours to get the crew safely to Weymouth Harbour in rough conditions. By the time they reached land, all 16 sailors were reported to be severely seasick.
