Third detention within little more than one year
On May 19, 2025, the 'Laurus' detained in Venice with 15 deficiencies, nine of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Water/Weather - Ventilators, air pipes and casings Damaged 2) Life saving App - Inflatable liferafts Not properly stowed 3) Life saving App - Embarkation arrangement survival craft Not properly maintained 4) Emergency systems - Emergency source of power - emergency generator Inoperative 5) Propulsion and auxiliary machinery - Propulsion main engine Not as required 6) Fire safety - Fixed fire exthinguising installation Inoperative 7) Fire safety - Ventilation Inoperative 8)) Radio communication - Reservce source of energy Not as required 9) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on May 26 and dropped anchor off Venice. The last detention were only on Feb 3 in Brindisi with eight deficiencies for nine days and on March 15 in Tekirdag with 34 deficiencies for nine days.
Detention in Brindisi
On Feb 3, 2025, the 'Laurus' was detained in Brindisi with eight deficiencies, five of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Fire safety - Fire doors/openings in fireresisting division Not as required 2) Fire safety - Evaluation of crew performance Lakc of familiarity 3) Fire safety - Fire prevention structural integrity Inoperative 4) Labour conditions - Sanitary facilities Inoperative 5) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on Feb 11 and left the port en route to Nemrut Bay with an ETA as of Feb 15. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063576908591
Vessel adrift at Çanakkale
On Aug 26, 2016, at 3.43 a.m. the "Laurus" suffered engine failure and went adrift at Çanakkale-Nara. The Çanakkale Vessel Traffic Service dispatched the tug "Kurtarma 4" to assist. At 6.10 a.m. the ship was safely moored at Karanlik Limana. The unloaded vessel was enroute from Nemrut to Constantia and had a crew of 14 on board.
