Collision in Velsen
A barge pushed by the "Laura" was in collision with the Velsen-ferry in Ijmuiden in the evening of Nov 27, 2016. The barge suffered substantial damage and the hull was breached 90 centimeters above the water line. The ferry which had hit the barge amidship suffered only small damage in the accident at South Velsen and could continue operating. Both skippers were interrogated by the police, further investigations should reveal what has been the cause of the collision.
