Tug rescued three missing fishermen

Mon Jun 14 13:11:20 CEST 2021 Timsen

Three Vincentians who were adrift at sea for several days and had run out of water after their boat encountered engine trouble, have been rescued by the 'Lady Debbie' 190 miles West of Saint Vincent. They were badly dehydrated, but managed to survive by eating the fish they had caught. They had left on a fishing expedition on May 30, 2021,but encountered engine failure on June 1. Searches by the Trinidad and Tobago Coastguard failed to locate the missing men. However, the 'Lady Debbie' which was returning from towing a Dutch freighter encountered the boat, took the Vincentians aboard and secured their vessel. On June 13 it arrived in Fort de France.
