Water ingress in Scharnebeck
In the evening of July 31, 2019, the "Labe 13", 1164 ts (EU-No.: 08451028), suffered water ingress in the foreship at the ship lift Scharnebeck North during the transit of the Mittelland Canal, while being enroute from Geesthacht to Hildesheim. The fire brigade attended with 100 forces and was dewatering the vessel until the evening in order to stabilize it. No pollution was reported, but as a precaution an oil boom was laid out around the ship. Divers were mobilized to track the source of the water ingress.
