Allison on Danube

Tue May 26 09:06:29 CEST 2015 Timsen

on May 24, 2015, at 9.15 a.m. the "Kreuzenstein", 1990 ts (EU-No.: 8557026), which was loaded with 500 tons corn, allided with a pillar of the East Railway Bridge in Vienna on the Danube. The ship had become disabled due to a technical failure and thus slammed into the pillar. The bridge had to be closed for railway traffic for two hours. After the pillar was investigated and found only slightly damage, traffic could be resumed. The crew of the "Kreuzenstein" was interrogated by the police before being allowed to resume its voyage too.
