Canal boat returned to Motala
The grounding of the "Juno" on Aug 4 at 6 a.m. at Råssnäsudden on the way from Motala to Karlsborgs, will be investigated. The canal boat has been on the wrong side of the fairway in the bay on its way towards the open sea. The ship suffered no leak, and no one was injured. The passengers were evacuated and got a bus ride to Karlsborg. The "Juno" returned to Motala where divers examined the hull. Canal boat ran aground
On Aug 4, 2014, at 7 a.m. the "Juno" ran aground at Råssnäsudden off Motala. The 29 passengers were evacuated by two lifeboat. The ship was stable and there was no danger to the passengers and the crew of 11. The fresh water tanks were to be emptied to lighter the vessel before it was tried to pull the ship off after divers have checked the hull.
