Tour boat ran aground

The "Jessica" with 33 persons on board, among them 31 passengers, suffered an engine failure and ran aground on the Peene at buoy PN24 near Kröslin in the midday hours of Sep 14, 2017. At 12.20 p.m. the DGzRS was alerted by the pilot boat "Schnatermann" which could not approach the site due to its large draught. The lifeboat "Heinz Oorth" of the station Freest attended the casualty half an hour later. Also the rubber boat "MV 6" of the water police was on scene. The ship was boarded and the passengers were calmed down. Then the "Heinz Oorth" refloated the vessel and towed it to Karlshagen. On scene were winds up to 49 km/h.
