The 'Italian Trader' suffered a technical failure at Antalya on June 10, 2021. The ship remained stationary at the inner port of Antalya as of June 12.

Cargo ship left stranded after bad weather

Wed Dec 31 09:23:12 CET 2014 arnekiel

A cargo ship was forced to put down its anchor off Aphrodite’s Bath in Paphos in the early hours of Wednesday morning after being caught in severe weather conditions. According to police, the Panama-flagged ship “Italian Trader” sent a signal to the Cyprus coast guard requesting to dock west of the Chrysochos bay and was granted permission at 3.55am. The 4,300-tonne vessel, which was built in 1982, had left Ashdod in Israel on the afternoon of December 29 and was on its way to Izmir in Turkey when it ran into choppy waters off Cyprus. The ship has since resumed its course. The Cyprus Meteorological Services has predicted a “slight to moderate” state of the sea forecast as well as partly cloudy with risk of isolated light showers between New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. - See more at: http://incyprus.philenews.com/en-gb/local-news/4422/43691/cargo-ship-left-stranded-after-bad-weather#sthash.DwbYHoiL.dpuf
