The container ship Ital Glamour, en route from Malaysia to Saudi Arabia, was damaged by rocket-propelled grenades in an attack by six pirates. The ship’s crew used fire hoses to chase away the pirates, JOC reports. No injuries were reported to ship’s 22 crew members. “The people, ship and cargo are safe, and that’s what is important to us,” said Barbara Yeninas, an Evergreen spokeswoman. The Ital Glamour, built in 1987, has capacity of 3,420 twenty-foot-equivalent units. The ship is operated by Italia, a unit of Taiwan-based Evergreen.
